The Sonosite Edge II is one of Sonosite’s newest systems available. This system is compatible with a new selection of Sonosite transducers, plus a few beloved transducers that have been compatible with previous generations of ultrasounds; M-Turbo, Edge, SII, and the S-Nerve.
Popular Imaging Applications:
Vascular:
The Edge II ultrasound is by far the most popular for vascular-associated images. Sports medicine, needle-guided injections, pain management, vascular, peripheral vascular, and MSK are just a few types of exams that the Edge II provides superior quality imaging for.
Different transducers will help provide the best image quality available, depending on the type of exam being conducted. A pain-management specialist, for example, or perhaps somebody performing needle-guided injections, might get a better image from the 15 MHz HFL50x, rather than the HFL38x.
Cardiac:
One of the biggest transformations Sonosite made in terms of their ultrasound development, is the quality of the cardiac imaging. Implementing the new rP19x, the newest Sonosite cardiac probe, and the TEEx, the transesophageal probe, the Edge II is capable of being a fully functioning cardiac system.
General Radiology and Imaging:
Despite these specialties, the Edge II can certainly hold its own for general imaging purposes. Armed with compatibility with the rC60xi curved probe, the C11x micro convex probe, and ICTx endovaginal probe, the Edge II can be used for all sorts of imaging. Pediatric, veterinary, OB-GYN, and general abdominal and small parts imaging are some of the many types of exams that can be conducted with this system.
Probe Compatibility:
Many of the probes compatible with the Edge II are only able to be used with either the Edge II or the SII. The rC60xi, HFL38xi, and the rP19x - the newest probes - are only suited for these two brand new systems.
On the other hand, there are plenty of probes that share compatibility with the Edge II. If you’ve got an M-Turbo or an Edge, and you don’t want to pay several thousand dollars on new probes. The C11x micro convex probe, the ICTx vaginal probe, the HFL50x high frequency linear probe and P10x are just a few of the probes that are interchangeable throughout generations of Sonosite systems.
There is always the concern, particularly when it comes to medical equipment, regarding the safety of the devices and the potential side effects that occur as a result of employing these machines.
It is important to know that ultrasound machines are known to be completely harmless. They function through the utilization of sound waves emitting from the probe or transducer. These sound waves are then translated into images by the ultrasound machine or system. There is no need to fear when using ultrasound machines – it is a quick, easy and efficient way to diagnose and help determine a patient’s ails.
