Economic Ultrasounds: GE Logiq E9 BT’11
The Logiq E9 Ultrasound Machine is one of the most prestigious ultrasound machines available on the market. Despite the fact that GE has been manufacturing this system for over a decade, there have been many variations and revisions throughout the years.
One of the earlier models, the BT’11, remains popular as of this publishing. It is compatible with practically every transducer that the later systems employ. Despite its age, the Logiq E9 is immensely popular, can provide high quality ultrasound images, and has parts readily available on the market.
Popular Imaging Applications:
The Logiq E9 BT’11 is primarily used for general radiological imaging. This includes vascular, small parts, abdominal, and 2D OB-GYN exams. It is capable of stress echo and cardiac imaging as well, but if you are looking for a specialty unit, the Vivid E9 BT’11 (or newer), is recommended.
The Logiq E9 BT’11 uses a variety of linear probes for various applications. The 9L-D, ML6-15-D, 11L-D, and L8-18i-D hockey stick probes are all transducers that can be employed for MSK, vascular, small parts, needle-guided injections, pain management, peripheral vascular, and more.
The 4C-D, C1-5-D, and C1-6-D are all employed for a variety of applications; including obstetrics, abdominal (liver, kidney, aorta), pelvic / hip needle-guided studies, and more. Usually, the IC5-9-D vaginal probe is paired with the curved probe for the full OB-GYN package.
Parts and Service:
Despite the fact that many of the newer boards and parts for the newer variations of the Logiq E9 are not compatible with the BT’11, the unit remains so popular that parts and service engineers are available constantly.
Many physicians and sonographers are concerned, rightfully so, with the potential for service and parts on these older units. While, for some systems, this concern is well-founded, the Logiq E9 BT’11 remains completely refurbish-able to this very day.
There is always the concern, particularly when it comes to medical equipment, regarding the safety of the devices and the potential side effects that occur as a result of employing these machines.
It is important to know that ultrasound machines are known to be completely harmless. They function through the utilization of sound waves emitting from the probe or transducer. These sound waves are then translated into images by the ultrasound machine or system. There is no need to fear when using ultrasound machines – it is a quick, easy and efficient way to diagnose and help determine a patient’s ails.
