The GE Vivid T8 ultrasound machine is a beautifully designed high end ultrasound system. Part of the GE Vivid family, this machine joins the rest of it's siblings in specializing in Cardiovascular applications. Unlike the other Vivid machines, however the Vivid T8 is also capable of producing exceptional images for General Image applications. This versatility, along with advanced special ultrasound technology and a wide variety of compatible transducers, makes the Vivid T8 a truly exceptional machine.
GE manufactures many varieties of ultrasound transducers and probes. Each of these probes are compatible with different types of ultrasound machines. For example, any probe that has a name without any dashes in it, such as the 4C curved array probe, 8C micro convex probe, or 10L linear array probe, are all compatible with regular ultrasound systems. Those that end with a "-RS", such as the 4C-RS or the E8C-RS, are compatible with either extremely new or portable ultrasound machines. The Vivid T8 is compatible with over ten GE "-RS" transducers. This flexibility allows diagnosticians to switch back and forth between portable ultrasound machines and the T8 without having to purchase any new transducers.
Additionally, each type of ultrasound transducer specializes in a specific type of ultrasound image. For example, curved array probes specialize in Abdominal, Urological and OB-GYN applications. One gets an inkling of how many types of images an ultrasound machine can project when seeing what type of probes the particular system is compatible with. The Vivid T8 is compatible with phased array probes, linear array probes, curved array probes, TEE (transesophageal) transducers, along with endocavitary and pencil probes.
The result of being compatible with so many types of transducers is extreme versatility in terms of ultrasound application capabilities. The Vivid T8 can produce images for Abdominal, OB-GYN, Cardiac, Vascular, TCD (transcranial doppler), Stress Echo, Musculoskeletal and more!
The Vivid T8 includes some wildly advanced ultrasound image enhancing technology. Some of the integral basic technologies include Tissue Velocity Imaging, Tissue Harmonic Imaging, B-Flow, Compound Imaging, and Triplex Mode. Specialized Cardiac technologies include Strain (inspecting regional structure of the heart muscle), TEE Echocardiography, Stress Echo, and AutoEF imaging.
