The HD 7 XE includes full Doppler, SonoCT, XRES, Integrated Stress Echo, and iScan imaging technologies. It is relatively small and designed to fit into smaller spaces. The XE version of the HD 7 includes a 15″ flat-screen LCD on an articulating arm. Like all Philips systems, the HD7 XE is built on a broadband digital beamformer, providing the platform for high quality imaging.

Pulse inversion technology reduces artifacts and delivers excellent resolution. SonoCT real-time imaging compounding and XRES adaptive image processing provide a high image quality. The result is best-in-class high definition imaging. Other features that enhance images include tissue harmonic imaging and speckle reduction imaging.

The HD7 XE is, as part of the HD series, well known for spectacular cardiovascular application imaging. It is, on the other hand, also capable of producing images for abdominal, small parts, OB-GYN and musculoskeletal applications for both pediatric and adult patients.
